Kitchen cabinets
I recommend thoroughly cleaning the kitchen with degreaser, to make sure all the layers of dirt and oil build up come off. A lot of people don’t realise this, but regular cleaning products build up on the surface of cabinets over time too, leaving residue. So, you’re not just using degreaser to to tackle cooking oils, but also you’re own cleaning products!
You’ll want to pay extra attention to handles, which are touched often and therefore need to be disinfected more thoroughly. Make sure to wipe the degreaser off with water as it can damage your wonderful cabinets if left on.
Kitchen appliances
Your kitchen appliances will also need a deep clean to get them ready. Think fridge, coffee machine, microwave, oven, air fryer, and toaster. A deep clean is the perfect time to give these a refresh so that they are much easier to maintain going forward.
Most importantly, clean the dishwasher filter and run an empty hot cycle to sanitise everything. It’s something many people don’t realise needs to be cleaned, but is very important!
Bathroom
In the bathroom, you’ll want to thoroughly descale and clean the taps, tiles, and glass. I also highly recommend spraying mould remover in any key areas, such as shower tiles that are often moist, to tackle anything popping up.
Fabrics
Fabrics trap a lot of dirt and dust. It is worth washing throw blankets, decorative pillows, and other items that don’t seem to get ‘dirty’ but definitely have build up. This also helps with allergens!
